India and Saudi Arabia are exploring collaborations in fintech, clean hydrogen, energy efficiency, new technologies, textiles, and mining to strengthen trade and investment ties. The bilateral trade between the two countries reached $43 billion in 2023-24, and Saudi Arabia has invested over $3 billion in India since 2000.
Battery Metals
Syrah Resources has secured a $150 million loan from the United States International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) to support the development of its Balama graphite operations in Mozambique. Balama is the world’s largest integrated graphite mining and processing facility, with an estimated 50-year mine life.

Carbon Capture
Linde Engineering will supply its carbon capture technology to ADNOC's Hail & Ghasha offshore gas project. This technology will help capture and store 1.5 million tons of CO2 annually.

Energy Efficiency
Rio Tinto is partnering with China’s State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC) to test battery swap technology for electric haul trucks at the Oyu Tolgoi copper mine in Mongolia. This two-year project will feature eight battery-electric trucks and 13 large battery packs (800 kWh each).

Nuclear Energy
Amazon announced plans to build four small modular nuclear reactors along the Columbia River in Richland, Washington, in partnership with Energy Northwest. These reactors will initially generate 320 MW of power, potentially expanding to 960 MW later on.
