Gevo, Inc. (GEVO) has been granted a U.S. patent for its breakthrough ethanol-to-olefins (ETO) process, which converts ethanol into key olefins like propylene and butene in a single step. Olefins are essential for producing chemicals, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), and other biofuels. Gevo is collaborating with LG Chem to scale this technology for commercial use in both fuels and chemicals.
PureCycle Technologies (PCT) announced that its Ironton, Ohio plastic recycling facility processed over one million pounds of feedstock in a week. CEO Dustin Olson noted that this achievement marks the fulfillment of all three near-term goals set during their second-quarter investor update in August.
Northstar Clean Technologies (ROOF) has completed a $14 million royalty transaction with CVW CleanTech, announced in August 2024. The deal, structured as a five-year 10% second secured convertible debenture, will fund the development of Northstar’s next two asphalt shingle reprocessing facilities, following the completion of its Calgary-based Empower Facility.
