NextDecade (NEXT) has appointed Tarik Skeik as its Chief Operating Officer (COO) as the company focuses on delivering Phase 1 of the Rio Grande LNG. Skeik, previously a global project executive at Exxon Mobil, brings over 20 years of experience in managing large-scale energy projects, which will be crucial as NextDecade also aims for positive final investment decisions (FID) project expansions.
Barbara Burger, Ph.D., former Vice President of Innovation and President of Chevron Technology Ventures, has been appointed to Bloom Energy's (BE) Board of Directors, effective August 1, 2024. Her previous experience in leading sustainable energy solutions at Chevron will provide strategic guidance, especially in the area of carbon capture technology.
RecycLiCo Battery Materials (AMY) has announced that its joint venture with Zenith Chemical has successfully commenced production and sales of black powder at its new Stage 1 shredding facility in Taiwan. This facility processes off-spec battery materials from a global battery manufacturer and has already completed its first shipment of black powder in June, with plans for future shipments underway. Construction of a Stage 2 recycling plant is set to begin later this year, which will process black powder and black mass from end-of-life batteries, and is expected to be commissioned in 2025.
Crown LNG Holdings (CGBS) has chosen IKM Engineering & Environmental Consultants as its design and engineering partner for the Grangemouth project, a floating LNG import terminal in Scotland. IKM will handle the pre-front-end engineering and design (FEED) and FEED phases, covering project management, execution planning, consenting, process design, facility layout, detailed engineering, and procurement support.
