I’m going to stop posting on Green Investing.
Over the last month, I’ve debated this extensively, and I’ve realized this newsletter has morphed into something I never wanted.
Or it would have to, if I actually wanted it to grow.
I struggled for the longest time to find the motivation to consistently create content.
I thought Green Investing was an outlet for my passion, but I haven’t been nearly as productive as I could or should be...
I couldn’t figure out what was wrong.
“Maybe I don’t like making YouTube videos, I should just try to grow on Twitter.”
“Maybe once I start making more money, I will be more interested.”
“Maybe I’m making the wrong content, try different topics.”
I would keep trying to switch things up when the business model was rotten from the start (for me).
To actually grow my following and income here… I have to create inauthentic content.
If it were up to me, I would post one new stock report a year, and a few updates here and there.
But that won’t be nearly enough to grow, obviously.
I figured I could just make most of it with AI if I don’t love making these videos or reports. I’d check for accuracy and rewrite it a bit… but most of it would be done for me.
And I made a variety of AI prompts to do that. The AI was actually getting pretty good at it.
In the end, it makes no sense to continue. I only chose to make content about such niche topics because I liked it.
Otherwise, you would have to be delusional to continue making social media content about niche microcaps in unpopular sectors.
Shifting to AI Content
For a while, I didn’t know what topics I would make content about if I stopped working on Green Investing…
Well, that changed in the last few months as I’ve learned more about AI.
The various AI LLMs are evolving rapidly and have grown to be quite useful.
Especially as deep research functionality has become readily available.
ChatGPT, Gemini, etc, are growing increasingly valuable for everyone, and they have many use cases for investors.
I plan on making tutorials about prompts, automations, and more. Everything that can help you save time or discover more opportunities with AI when researching new stocks.
If you research stocks regularly and want to learn more about these topics, then consider subscribing to my new YouTube channel, Investing Review.
I also created a separate Substack for that AI content, so if this topic interests you, then consider subscribing here.
Once I’m in a good place with Investing Review, I may start making content here again as well. Occasional reports and updates about the stocks I own. But I’m not sure about that quite yet.
I know people liked the Green Markets series, but it takes far too long to make while it has no commercial viability.
For now, I will focus on making the AI content and growing the following there.
Brief Portfolio Update
As far as stocks go, my portfolio is largely unchanged. Minus Base Carbon, as I mentioned previously. Not much to add.
Just need to hold steady through this volatile period, thanks to the tariff situation. I don’t like to trade around, so probably won’t change much, if anything.
Of course, I wish companies would progress faster, but it is what it is.
First Video
I have uploaded my first video already, going over some different ways to use ChatGPT, or any other LLM, to research stocks. If you find it helpful, consider subscribing:
Good luck with your new channel. FTR I did enjoy Green Investing, you seem very truthful and authentic.
